Boom! Orange is a Chardonnay hotspot and within minutes of hitting the ground in the region, I've hit the jackpot. What an excellent wine this is from Canobolas Wines.
I just want the tasting to be done with so I can settle in with this beauty. The fruit purity sizzles. Lemon zest and juice bound from the glass with white flowers hot on their tail. White fleshed nectarines and ruby grapefruit muse with the delicate presence of cashews weaving through. Some texture from whole bunch pressing and time on lees plus a lick of vanilla courtesy of 33% new French oak (20% MLF), welcome to the pleasure dome! New owner Jon Mattick has brought his expertise from working with Chardonnay at 10X Tractor - what an asset he is to the Orange wine region landscape.
