The first release of this Angullong Montepulciano hit the shelves in 2019. Forming part of a brace of Italian varieties in the Fossil Hill range, the juicy fruit on offer is very appealing.
Buckets of dark cherries along with sarsaparilla light things up early with dried herbs and tomato bush hot on their tail. With a respectable length, I tasted this recently with owner Ben Crossing. It's a wine that would benefit from a decant but time wasn't on our side that day. Pair with Osso Bucco.
