The new release wines El Desperado wines from the The Pawn Wine Company have hit the mark and then some. The value at the price point screams the word bargain. Here is a very good drink for Sauv Blanc lovers.
Expressive deluxe, think passionfruit, pineapple sage, lime, cut herbs, green melon and lemon rind. Bucket loads of fruit are partnered by a terrific fresh herbaceousness that doesn't go down the cut grass or cat piss road that many Sauv do. A small portion saw older French oak during fermentation adding some texture. Clean and crisp, it's a big tick (and I'm not a Sauv Blanc fan).
